So it begins... I had an interesting conversation with Lucy this morning. We covered lesbians, hetrosexual relationships and reproductive technologies... all before lunch. This all stemmed from Lucy telling me today that one of her classmates had called her a lesbian in the playground (memo to self talk to that girl's mother at the beginning of term). 'What is a lesbian?' Lucy asked. This was a conversation I was hoping wouldn't occur for several years... sheesh what ever happened to childhood?! The resulting explanation gave rise to questions about sexual relationships between men and women and what happens if a couple cannot have a baby. Lucy summarised the conversation by stating it must be very confusing for a child to grow up with two dads or two mums before wandering off to leave her mother feeling like she'd just completed a marathon, climbed a mountain & leapt off the edge of the world's highest waterfall.
Good grief what kind of questions will she be asking when she reaches 8?

Wow and all this information before Junior school! Her teachers will be impressed! (or bewildered!)
Hope the potty training has or is getting or got better and drier. Can't believe it has taken Jon this many years!
